Maia Campbell has a message for LL Cool J: Thanks, but no thanks.
ICYMI: This past weekend, a viral video appeared to show the 40-year-old actress begging for crack at an Atlanta-area gas station, wearing nothing but a bra and tight shorts.
Since that video surfaced, LL Cool J's been trying to get in touch with his former In the House costar: “If anyone has a contact on Maia pls let me know..." he reportedly wrote on Instagram, later taking to Twitter to scold the person who filmed Campbell in her sorry state.
In response, the guy who encountered Campbell at the gas station posted another video Tuesday to assure LL that he took her to a rehab center, though she didn't check herself in.
But enough of this "he said, she said" stuff — what does Campbell think about LL Cool J's attempt to contact her?
In a video that started making the rounds Monday, which was reportedly filmed in the barber shop where she works part-time, an agitated Campbell assures LL Cool J that she doesn't need any help, unless he wanted to help her throw a benefit concert for mental health, that is.
"Hey Todd," she begins. "Well, I love you. I don’t need help. I need a benefit concert for mental health. Don’t TMZ me. It’s really me. This is, Darryl (the man filming the video). And this is the shop that I temp at, or whatever. We’re good. I’m doing property. I have investments. And my show is called, ‘From The Bottom Up’ season 2. Don't call me, I'll call you."
LL Cool J appeared to have taken the hint, tweeting later Monday night: "You can't help someone who doesn't want your help."
If that ain't the truth.
Were you shocked when that footage of Campbell surfaced? If so, we don't blame you — here's what she's been up to over the past three decades, from her South Central days to her appearance on Iyanla Vanzant's Fix My Life.
