Imagine a world where UGK spit bars on the same tracks as Juicy J, DJ Paul, Project Pat, and Crunchy Black! According to Bun B, during an interview with Nore on "Drink Champs," that dope fantasy was almost a reality. The two Southern groups toyed with the idea of joining forces to become a supergroup called Underground Mafia around the time "Sippin’ on Some Sizzurp" and "Like A Pimp" were recorded.
"We never got that far into it because Pimp ended up getting locked up," Bun B said of the EP that could have been. Of the rap supergroups that have come and gone, Underground Mafia would've been insane! If you haven't listened to their collaborations recently, do yourself a favor and turn the volume up right now.
Underground Mafia isn't the only rap supergroup that we missed out on. Check the gallery above to see which other groups were this close to shutting the game down.
